Development cooperation of the Republic of Slovenia in Northern Macedonia

On November 29, 2023, in cooperation with the Embassy of Slovenia in Skopje, we presented the bilateral development cooperation of the Republic of Slovenia through the CMSR, the possibility of co-financing projects through a grant from the Republic of Slovenia, and the method of submitting project proposals.

The presentation, which took place at the NLB premises in Skopje, was attended by representatives of various municipalities. The event was opened with an opening address by Ms. Evgenia Serafimovska Kirkovski from the Secretariat for European Affairs of the Republic of North Macedonia, Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia in Skopje H.E. Mr. Gregor Presker, and the Director of CMSR Mr. Dejan Prešiček.

The Republic of North Macedonia is one of the most important partners in Slovenian development cooperation and a priority country for international development assistance. In accordance with the Intergovernmental Agreement, development cooperation between Slovenia and North Macedonia focuses on environmental protection, in particular water resource protection and wastewater management, and energy efficiency. Special emphasis is placed on strengthening economic development and balanced regional development, as well as modernizing public administration and training in the area of EU approximation.
